“Portrait of a Hero II”

My blog started out as an avatar fanart blog, and I haven’t drawn anything avatar related for at least 2 months I think so here’s to the people who STILL follow me for avatar fanart!
I’ve been wanting to redo some old art of mine, and THIS was one of my favorites back when I ‘made’ it. (I use quotes because back then I traced everything…)
I’m really proud of how it turned out, I didn’t use any overlay texture but instead tried to incorporate it through the brushwork!
I put it up as a print on my shop and until Sunday you can get free shipping anywhere in the world!

I’ve wanted to do one of these for a while! It’s basically a map of people I’m extremely inspired by!
1. Alice. X. Zhang
Alice always amazes me with her colors, they always seem so random, but work so perfectly together!
2. Masterarrowhead
Madi, she’s an amazing cartoon artist, I love all her comics and chibi’s!
3. Gurihiru
They did the art for the “promise” avatar comics, and I love it! They have a really unique cartoon style!
4. Gingerhaze
Noelle, I love how she doesn’t necessarily draw anything proportional, but her fun doodle drawing style really makes it work!
5. Hans Zimmer
Not an ‘art’ artist, but a master nonetheless! He did the soundtrack for Batman, Pirates of the Caribbean, Sherlock Holmes, and many other movies! I’ll never object to listening to his music while I draw!
6. The Minish Cap
The only video game I’ve ever finished. Unfortunately I lost my gameboy advance, but I still sneak my little brother’s into my room to play this! The gameplay and story are cute, and the art (both in game, and concept) is really fun!
7. Concept art
I love concept art. I really do, its so fun to see the initial thought and design behind the finished product! This piece was done for the animated move ‘The Prince of Egypt!’
8. Howard Shore
Again, a music artist. He did the soundtrack for the Lord of the Rings / the Hobbit. (I have all the cd’s, and they never leave rotation in my house stereo!)
9. Chiou
I just discovered her art a couple weeks ago, but its amazing! She’s super good at cartoons and painting as well, excellent stuff!
10. Bryan Konietzko
Ah, the creator of Avatar! (aside from creating my favorite tv series in existence  I love the paintings and doodles he puts on his blog!
11. Alan Lee
Concept artist for Lord of the Rings, I have his art-book and its absolutely beautiful! One of my favorite art-books to look through!
12. Hayao Miyazaki
This man is responsible for films such as Howl’s Moving Castle, Spirited Away, and My Neighbor Totoro! (I think I remember reading) that he storyboards every movie personally… I love his watercolors paintings and sketches!

…Not even for the sake of knowing famous people, some people just seem really nice and interesting!

I’d love to scribble with Gingerhaze, paint with alicexz, or talk avatar with Bryan Konietzko!

have you ever felt like that? Just wishing the people you admire, were close enough to be friends?

I was feeling super inspired by Bryan Konietzko’s Lovely paintings, so I quickly painted Wan Shi Tong..
I really should try to paint more often :D

Have a transparent Korra!

Have a transparent Korra!

Meelo is at it again! Last sketch of the summer… Huzzah!

And now I’m off to school, see y’all later!

Have a little comic I sketched out! Here you go!

I’ve got beifong feels tonight, I think I tearbent while drawing this, in fact.

Please do reblog, and follow if you aren’t already! :D

“Whatever happens to me… Don’t turn back” Lin Beifong… What an inspiring character! For real, like, I can’t even! She lost her love, her job, even her bending, all to save Tenzin! Did anyone notice how self-less she was? Saving her officers, saving tenzin, I could talk for hours! To put it simply:

That lady is my hero!

Just so you know, this is probably the most favorite thing i’ve ever made! I’m super proud of it, but anyway Ask-Iroh-General, and a couple other tumblrs wondered how I draw… I don’t have any good recording programs so I hope the included GIF will do! ;)
